The Apostolic Vicariate of Aguarico ( Latin apostolicus Vicariatus Aguaricoënsis , Spanish Vicariato Apostolico de Aguarico ) is in Ecuador located Roman Catholic Apostolic Vicariate with headquarters in Puerto Francisco de Orellana .

The name of the vicariate is derived from the Río Aguarico .

history

The Apostolic Vicariate Aguarico was on November 16, 1953 by Pope Pius XII. established from the cession of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate Napo as Apostolic Prefecture Aguarico .

On July 2, 1984, the Apostolic Prefecture Aguarico was elevated to the Apostolic Vicariate.
