The Apostolic Vicariate of Heliopolis in Egypt ( lat. : Apostolicus Vicariatus Heliopolis in Aegypto ) was in Egypt located Roman Catholic Apostolic Vicariate with headquarters in Heliopolis (district of Cairo ).

history

The Apostolic Vicariate of Heliopolis in Egypt was dissolved on November 30, 1987 by the Congregation for the Oriental Churches with the decree Cum olim and the territory was annexed to the Apostolic Vicariate Alexandria in Egypt.

In 1980 there were 1,600 Catholics living in the area of ​​the Apostolic Vicariate Heliopolis in Egypt. The Vicariate Apostolic was divided into five parishes and had 70 priests . The Basilica of Our Lady of Heliopolis was the cathedral.
