history

The Apostolic Vicariate Méndez was on February 17, 1893 by Pope Leo XIII. Established from the cession of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate Napo as Apostolic Vicariate Méndez y Gualaquiza . The Apostolic Vicariate Méndez y Gualaquiza changed its name to Apostolic Vicariate Méndez on April 12, 1951 .
