Apucarana , officially Portuguese Município de Apucarana , is a city in the Brazilian state of Paraná . In the 2010 census year it had 120,919 inhabitants, who were estimated to be 134,996 as of July 1, 2019 and live on a community area of around 558.4 km². The calculated population density is 216 people per km², but over 94% of the Apucaranese population is concentrated in the urban area. It ranks 11th out of 399 municipalities in the state.

Surrounding communities are Arapongas , Cambira , Califórnia , Marilândia do Sul , Rio Bom , Novo Itacolomi , Mandaguari , Londrina and Sabáudia .

Apucarana is home to the Roma Esporte Apucarana and Apucarana Atlético Clube football clubs , and it also owns the Estádio Municipal Olímpio Barreto, which opened in 1967 .
