from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Arbeitsgemeinschaft Katholischer Hochschulgemeinden (AKH) is the umbrella organization for all Catholic university communities in Germany .

As the umbrella organization for all university communities, the AKH also represents the students in the University and Church Forum (FHoK) and before the bishops in the individual dioceses and in the German Bishops' Conference.

structure

Board

The board of directors is elected for two years by the assembly of delegates. At least two members must be full-time employees. The board of directors deals primarily with the national AKH projects and supports the preparation and implementation of national events.

Assembly of Delegates (DV)

In the delegates' assembly, the board is discharged and re-elected. In addition, new committees are formed, confirmed or closed.

Events

Every semester the AKH offers weekend seminars on spiritual and other topics. Every student can take part. Thanks to funding, the prices of the seminars are relatively low. Often there is also financial support from the local student communities.

In addition to the seminars, the delegates' assembly is usually held in November and a winter meeting in winter at a university community location in Germany. A summer school will take place for the first time in the 2006 summer semester.

Pilgrimage

A student pilgrimage, now called "Rauszeit", has been carried out to Rosenthal since the 1950s .

Until 2004 it was tradition that the pilgrimage was carried out every two years. The pilgrimage started in Dresden at that time . During the GDR era, the pilgrim students were housed in families in Dresden. Later they were housed together in community centers in Dresden. On Saturday some of them took the train from Dresden to Kamenz, from where the pilgrimage on foot to Rosenthal started in small groups. Another part already went from Dresden to Rosenthal.

The Rosenthal pilgrimage started in 2005 in the Bischof-Benno-Haus in Schmochtitz (district of Bautzen ). The pilgrimage is now carried out annually. It now begins in Panschwitz-Kuckau .

In 2020, the pilgrimage will take place decentrally under the motto "Get out of the comfort zone" because of the corona pandemic.
