Arena is an American action film from the year 2011 .

action

The film is about a man named David Lord, who loses his pregnant wife in a car accident and is apparently kidnapped by accident shortly afterwards in order to have to fight for life and death in an illegal web show (" Death Games "). After surviving the first few fights, he falls in love with the kidnapper who brought him into this situation. He negotiates the only apparent deal with the head of the machinations (Samuel L. Jackson) that he will survive ten fights and then be released. The tenth fight is to take place against the "Executioner", the best fighter on the show. On the way there, David is seriously injured, which he repairs with various skin sutures.

As it turns out towards the end of the film, Lord is a government agent who was deliberately smuggled into the show in order to expose the secret organization.

Reviews

"The action film, which strives to achieve a solid level, cannot deny its origins from the trivial whipping film genre, regardless of its ambitions."
