Armando Umberto Gianni OFMCap (born September 23, 1939 in Gragnola , Province of Massa-Carrara , Italy ) is an Italian religious and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Bouar .

Life

Armando Umberto Gianni entered the religious order of the Capuchin and received on 21 September 1963, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On February 27, 1978 Pope Paul VI appointed him . the first bishop of the Bouar diocese, established on the same date . The Archbishop of Bangui , Joachim N'Dayen , donated him episcopal ordination on November 19 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Berbérati , Alphonse-Célestin-Basile Baud OFMCap, and the Bishop Emeritus of Moundou , Samuel Gaumain OFMCap.

On December 2, 2017, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
