Mirosław Gucwa (born November 21, 1963 in Pisarzowa ( rural municipality Limanowa ), Poland ) is a Polish clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Bouar .

Life

Mirosław Gucwa studied philosophy and Catholic theology at the seminary in Tarnów . After acquiring a license in Catholic theology, he received the sacrament of ordination on June 12, 1988 .

From 1988 to 1992 Gucwa worked as parish vicar in Grybów before he went to the Central African Republic as a missionary in 1992 and became a pastor in Bohong . In 1996 he became rector of the Small Seminary in Bouar . From 2003 to 2006 Mirosław Gucwa was also Chancellor of the Diocesan Curia of the Bouar Diocese. Gucwa was appointed Vicar General of the Bouar Diocese in 2006. In addition, from 2011 to 2014 he was pastor of the cathedral as well as prison and hospital chaplain in Bouar.

On December 2, 2017, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Bouar. The Archbishop of Bangui , Dieudonné Cardinal Nzapalainga CSSp , donated him episcopal ordination on February 11, 2018 ; Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio to the Central African Republic, Archbishop Santiago de Wit Guzmán , and the Bishop of Tarnów , Andrzej Jeż .
