Santiago de Wit Guzmán

Santiago de Wit Guzmán (born September 5, 1964 in Valencia , Spain ) is a Spanish clergyman, Roman Catholic archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See .

Life

Santiago de Wit Guzmán received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Valencia on May 24, 1989 .

He holds a degree in Canon Law and entered the Diplomatic Service of the Holy See on June 13, 1998. After completing his diplomatic training, he worked at the nunciatures in the Central African Republic, the Netherlands , Paraguay, Egypt, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Spain, most recently as a councilor.

On 21 March 2017 Pope appointed him Francis to Titular Archbishop of Gabala and the apostolic nuncio in the Central African Republic . Four days later, Pope Francis appointed him in addition to the Apostolic Nuncio in Chad . He was ordained bishop on June 10th of the same year by Archbishop Paul Gallagher . Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Valencia , Cardinal Antonio Cañizares Llovera , and the Archbishop of Madrid , Cardinal Carlos Osoro Sierra .
