Armin Becker

Armin Becker (* 1962 in Marburg ) is a German provincial Roman archaeologist and ancient historian .

Life

Studied history and prehistory at the universities of Marburg and Göttingen. 1991 doctorate with Karl Christ with the topic "Rome and the Chattes". 1994 and 1995 scientific employee at the Brandenburg State Office for Monument Preservation and the Commission for State Archaeological Research in Hesse (Bad Nauheim excavation). 1996 traineeship at the State Office for Monument Preservation Hesse, 1997 to 2002 scientific employee at the State Office for Monument Preservation Hesse. 2002 to 2012 research assistant at the DFG project "Waldgirmes" of the Roman-Germanic Commission of the German Archaeological Institute. Between 1996 and 2009 he was entrusted with carrying out the archaeological excavations around the Roman Forum Lahnau-Waldgirmes . Together with Gabriele Rasbach , Becker is currently working on the final publication of this excavation.
