Armin Schwibach

Armin Schwibach LC (born December 6, 1964 in Pfarrkirchen ) is a German philosopher , theologian , translator and lecturer at various Roman universities and works as a freelance journalist and Vatican reporter. He lives in Rome .

Life

After High School on school Leopoldinum (Passau) 1984 Schwibach studied at the Pontificia Università Gregoriana philosophy, where he 1986 the baccalaureate and in 1988 the licentiate in Philosophy (specialization: epistemology and metaphysics ) took off, the latter with the top grade "summa cum laude". From 1989 to 1995 he studied Catholic theology at the Pontificia Università Lateranense and continued his philosophy studies at the Gregoriana, where he again received his doctorate in philosophy in 1996 with “ summa cum laude ” . In 1997, the doctoral thesis was awarded the Robert Bellarmin Prize of the Pontificia Università Gregoriana for the best non-theological dissertation of the doctoral class. Since 1996 he has been a professor at the Pontificio Ateneo Regina Apostolorum of the Legionaries of Christ , of which he is a lay member . He also taught as a visiting professor at the Philosophical Faculty of the Gregorian (1992–1998) and at the Faculty of Bioethics of the Pontificio Ateneo Sant'Anselmo (from 2001). In the 1990s he was also active as a philosophy lecturer at institutions in Rome and Rieti and as an associate professor in Berlin and Haarlem . He spent a research semester in 1998/99 at the University of Münster . From 2000 to 2003 he taught German at the state secondary school Istituto Comprensivo Statale Luigi Settembrini in Rome. From 2003, he took on a research assignment at the state cultural institute Istituto Trentino di Cultura in the province of Trento , which was converted into the Bruno Kessler Foundation in 2007 . After that he wrote mainly for the agency Zenit , which is maintained by his order, and the Würzburg newspaper Die Tagespost . Since September 2010 he has been a Vaticanist for kath.net .
