Arnd Czapek (born February 9, 1964 in Halle (Saale) ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 2011 to 2016 he was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .

Life and work

Czapek grew up in Loitzschütz . He graduated from school in Heuckewalde and Droßdorf with a middle school leaving certificate and trained as a cabinet maker and cabinet maker. He was a skilled worker in the learned profession in Zeitz and construction manager in the company Jan Schwarz Dachdecker GmbH in Kretzschau and Heuckewalde.

In 2018, Czapek was first sentenced to probation for fraud in connection with flood relief funds. The Halle district court acquitted Czapek of the allegation after more than 20 days of hearing in June 2020.

politics

Czapek belongs to the council of the Verbandsgemeinde Droyßiger-Zeitzer Forst and is on the council of the community of Gutenborn . He has been a member of the Burgenland District Council since the 2014 local elections . In the election in 2019 he was re-elected. He has been deputy chairman of the CDU / FDP parliamentary group since 2014.

In the state elections in 2011 , he won the direct mandate in the state constituency of Zeitz and sat in the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt until 2016. In 2016 he ran unsuccessfully in the election for mayor of the community of Droyßiger-Zeitzer Forst. In the state elections in Saxony-Anhalt in 2016, he was defeated in the fight for the direct mandate André Poggenburg from the AfD; since his place on the list was not enough to move in, he left the state parliament.

He was a member of the Committee on Economy, Science and Digitization and the Committee on Food, Agriculture and Forestry.

Czapek was nominated in August 2020 as his party's candidate in the Zeitz state constituency for the 2021 election.

Political priorities

Together with the Kunsthochschule Halle , Czapek developed the project Ein Bahnhof im Wandel in the 2013/14 winter semester . A new usage concept was drawn up for Zeitz train station in order to revive it. The aim should be to involve the citizens of Zeitz in the concept phase in order to establish a connection between the city and the residents.

Czapek campaigned for the B91 bypass in Theißen , which was included in the 2011–2015 investment framework plan for the federal transport infrastructure. Together with the Lord Mayor of Zeitz, he promoted this among state and federal politicians.

After the flood disaster in 2013, Czapek promoted a municipal aid program in the country, which was paid out from January 2014.
