Aroldo Tieri

Aroldo Tieri (born August 28, 1917 in Corigliano Calabro , Calabria , † December 29, 2006 in Rome ) was an Italian actor.

Life

Tieri has appeared in over 100 Italian films as an actor. His career began in 1939 with the period film Manon Lescaut by director Carmine Gallone on the side of Alida Valli and Vittorio De Sica . This was followed by film productions with many well-known national and international directors, such as 1961 in Cléments Halt mal die Bombe, Liebling ( Che gioia vivere ) at the side of Alain Delon and Ugo Tognazzi , or in 1967 in Stenos Stage Pigs ( La Feldmarescialla ) with Rita Pavone . He made his last film in 1969 and from then on played exclusively in the theater. Most of his films were not shown in German-speaking countries.

In 2001 Roberto Benigni offered him the role of judge in his Pinocchio film. It was particularly successful with comedies starring the comedian Totò .
