Arrondissement of Metz-Campagne

The arrondissement Metz-Campagne (Metz-Land) was an administrative unit of the Moselle department within the French region of Lorraine . The prefecture was Metz . It consisted of nine cantons and 142 municipalities. The area was 1052 square kilometers, the population (2011) 221,728, the population density 211 inhabitants per square kilometer.

On January 1, 2015, it was merged with the arrondissement Metz-Ville , which only included the city of Metz, to form the new arrondissement Metz .
