Arrondissement of Thionville-Est
The Arrondissement Thionville-Est was an administrative unit of the Moselle department in the French region of Lorraine . The main town (seat of the sub-prefecture ) was Thionville (Diedenhofen). It consisted of 6 cantons and 75 municipalities. The area was 686 square kilometers, the population (2011) 139,687, the population density 204 inhabitants per square kilometer.
On January 1, 2015, it was merged with the Arrondissement Thionville-Ouest to form the new Arrondissement Thionville .

The Arrondissement Thionville-Est emerged in 1919 from the Diedenhofen-Ost district . Since 1922, the sub-prefect of Thionville-Est has co-administered the Thionville-Ouest arrondissement .
