Buding ( German Büdingen ) is a French commune with 588 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Thionville and the canton of Metzervisse .

geography

Buding is located on the Canner , about twelve kilometers east of Thionville at an altitude between 170 and 306 m above sea level. The municipality covers 6.36 km².

The village of Elzing ( Elzingen ) to the south also belongs to the municipality of Buding .

history

The place has belonged to France since 1659.
