Monneren is a French commune with 420 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Thionville .

Monneren is about 18 kilometers east of Thionville at an altitude between 231 and 307 m above sea level. The municipal area covers 11.06 km².
history
The place has belonged to France since 1661.
The northern village of Sainte-Marguerite ( Sankt Margareth ), which was founded at the beginning of the 17th century, has belonged to the municipality of Monneren since 1810 .
