Rustroff (German Rüsdorf , Lorraine Réischtroff ) is a French commune with 612 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Thionville .

geography

Rustroff is located about 16 kilometers northeast of Thionville at an altitude between 147 and 358 m above sea level, the mean height is 300 m. The municipal area covers 3.23 km² and touches the Moselle in the north near the border triangle France-Germany-Luxembourg.

history

The place has belonged to France since 1661 and was incorporated into Sierck from 1811 to 1880 .
