Kemplich is a French commune with 168 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Thionville and the canton of Metzervisse .

Kemplich is located about 15 kilometers east of Thionville at an altitude between 228 and 350 m above sea level. The municipality covers 5.54 km².

history

The village dates from Gallo-Roman times and was probably called Campilius at that time . It has belonged to France since 1661.
