Veckring (German Weckringen , Lorraine Weckréngen ) is a municipality with 670 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ), about 16 kilometers east of Thionville .
history
The place has belonged to France since 1659 and was part of the neighboring municipality of Budling from 1811 to 1901 . Fort Hackenberg to the west was part of the Maginot Line in the last century .
The village of Helling ( Hellingen ) to the west also belongs to the municipality of Veckring .

economy
The municipality of Veckring does not have a significant number of industrial companies. Veckring is to a certain extent shaped by agricultural trade. At the eastern entrance to the village, a local paintball field of national importance was created some time ago.
