Haute-Kontz (German Oberkontz , Lorraine Uewer-Konz ) is a French commune with 588 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Thionville .

geography

Haute-Kontz is located near the border triangle Luxembourg-France-Germany, at the confluence of the Gander in the Moselle at an altitude of between 145 and 286 m above sea level. The municipality covers 6.41 km².

history

Like the neighboring municipality of Contz-les-Bains ( Niederkontz ), the village has belonged to France since 1661.
