Illange ( German Illingen , Lorraine Illéngen ) is a French commune with 1870 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region ( Lorraine until 2015 ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Thionville and the Canton of Yutz .

geography

The municipality of Illange is located on the Moselle , about four kilometers southeast of Thionville immediately northeast of the old German-French language border at an average altitude of 178 m. Most of the Moselle port on the left bank of the Moselle also belongs to the 5.65 km² municipal area, to which there is no road connection from the core town.
