Boulange (German Bollingen ) is a French commune with 2,494 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ).

geography

The municipality of Boulange is located 20 kilometers west of Thionville on the border with the Meurthe-et-Moselle department . It consists of the two districts Boulange and Bassompierre.

history

Boulange - first mentioned as Bollingen in 1178 - has belonged to France since 1678. Bassompierre (German Bettstein ) was first mentioned as Bazompetra in 1133 , then Betstein in 1570.
