Flastroff ( German Flasdorf , Lorraine Floostroff / Flueschdrëf ) is a French commune with 326 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Thionville . The inhabitants call themselves Flastroffois . Nickname: " Di Flooschtrowwer gobies ".
geography
The municipality of Flastroff is located ten kilometers north of Bouzonville , not far from the border with Saarland at an altitude between 214 and 307 m above sea level. The municipality covers 8.38 km². The northern district of Zeurange ( Zeringen , nickname: " Di Zeiringer Béck ") belongs to Flastroff .
history
Flastroff has belonged to the Duchy of Lorraine since the Middle Ages . As a result of the Peace of Vincennes , the place fell to France in 1661. After the Franco-Prussian War he became German again in 1871. Flastroff has been French again since the First World War . During the Second World War , the village was occupied by the Wehrmacht from May 1940 to February 1945 .
