Contz-les-Bains ( German Niederkontz , Lorraine Nidderkonz ) is a French commune with 508 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ).
The inhabitants call themselves Contzois . Their nicknames are " Di Konzer Bounefrësser " and " Die Kontzer Kwiseler ".

The municipality of Contz-les-Bains is located on the left bank of the Moselle in the triangle of France , Luxembourg and Germany .
history
The village has belonged to France since 1661 - with a brief interruption from 1871 to 1918 - and was called Basse-Kontz until 1930 . The neighboring town of Haute-Kontz is a little to the west.
