Évrange (German Ewringen , 1940-44 Eweringen , Lorraine Iewréngen ) is a French commune with 240 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ).

The municipality of Évrange is located on the Luxembourg border, about 17 kilometers north of Thionville .

history

The village was first mentioned in 963 as Ebiringon , was an exclave of Luxembourg on French territory after the Congress of Vienna and was finally ceded to France on March 28, 1820.
