Richemont ( German Reichersberg ) is a French commune with 2075 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Thionville and the Canton of Fameck .

Richemont is located south of Thionville at an altitude between 152 and 214 m above sea level. The municipality covers 8.48 km².

history

Through the Peace of the Pyrenees , Thionville and the surrounding area were ceded by Luxembourg to France on November 7, 1659 .
