Arthur Wansleben (born December 19, 1861 in Krefeld , † June 29, 1917 in Düsseldorf ) was a German landscape painter from the Düsseldorf School .

Life

Wansleben studied painting at the Düsseldorf Art Academy . From 1881 Johann Peter Theodor Janssen , Hugo Crola , Heinrich Lauenstein and above all the landscape painter Eugen Dücker were his teachers. He was a student in Dücker's landscape class from 1883 to 1887. In 1885 he stayed in Katwijk . In 1903 Wansleben belonged to the Free Association of Düsseldorf Artists , which held its annual exhibition in the Düsseldorf Art Palace . He was also a member of the Malkasten artists' association .

Among the landscape painters of the Düsseldorf school has Wansleben beside Max Clare Bach , Wilhelm Hambüchen , Ernst Hardt , Heinrich Hermanns , Olof Jernberg , Helmuth Liesegang , Adolf Lins , Hugo Mühlig , Heinrich Otto , Max Stern and Fritz von Wille as a painter of the Lower Rhine a Name made.
