Arwed Blomeyer

Arwed Ludwig Georg Jürgen Fritz Blomeyer (born December 16, 1906 in Wilhelmshaven ; † May 8, 1995 in Berlin ) was a German legal scholar .

Live and act

Arwed Blomeyer was the son of the frigate captain Fritz Blomeyer, who settled with the family in Jena after the end of the First World War . Arwed Blomeyer attended grammar school here and began studying law in 1924, which he completed in 1927 with the first state examination in law and in 1929 with a doctorate . He then worked at the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Berlin. In 1932 he went to the Friedrich Wilhelms University in Berlin .

There, he applied in 1936 with the work of the projected benefit from conditional transaction , by Heinrich Titze and Carl August Emge recommended that habilitation . After a teaching rehearsal moved from the University of Breslau to the University of Kiel and a repetition at the University of Marburg , the lectureship was given in 1937 .

In 1938 he went to the University of Tübingen , where he was appointed professor in 1939 . He held other professorships in Jena and Würzburg . In 1951 he was appointed professor for civil law , commercial law , civil procedural law and legal philosophy at the Free University of Berlin . He turned down calls to Göttingen , Heidelberg and Freiburg . In 1975 he retired .

Arwed Blomeyer died in Berlin in 1995 at the age of 88. His grave is in the Dahlem forest cemetery .
