Asa Akira (born January 3, 1985 or 1986 in New York City , New York ; real life Asa Takigami ) is a Japanese - American porn actress and model . Other pseudonyms include Tracy Han and Akira Lee . In 2012 and 2013 Akira won an AVN Award , two XRCO Awards and an XBIZ Award for best actress of the year. In addition, she has won numerous other awards.

Life

According to her own statements, Asa Akira was born in New York City to Japanese parents and grew up there, although she lived in Japan between the ages of 6 and 13. After returning to America, she attended a private school in Manhattan on a scholarship .

She says that she started working as a dominatrix when she was 19 and then worked as a stripper in a hustler club. There she was cast for a radio show called Bubba the Love Sponge , where she worked for a year. She gained her first professional experience as a professional actress in hardcore porn films with the actress Gina Lynn in lesbian porn films. Her first job as an actress with male colleague Travis Knight, later husband of Gina Lynn, took place in 2008 in the film Top Notch Bitches 7 .

She has acted for all of the major companies in the industry, including Elegant Angel, Evil Angel , Wicked Pictures, and Gina Lynn Productions. She was an actress in many scenes of films by the Brazzers company and played a leading role in the ZZ series Lust Bite (three-part vampire porn film). In 2010 she was seen as an actress in the named after her film Asa Akira Is Insatiable , for which she received four AVN awards. In 2012, six sequels of the commercially successful film were produced with Asa Akira in the lead role.

She was married to porn actor Toni Ribas between 2012 and 2017 .

She described her life and professional career in detail in her memoir "Insatiable: Porn - A Love Story", which was published in May 2014 by Grove / Atlantic.

In 2017 she appeared in the Emmy-Winning episode of Family Guy (Season 16) as a candidate for the "back room casting show".
