Assaad Bouab

Assaad Bouab (born July 31, 1980 in Aurillac , Cantal Department ) is a Moroccan actor .

life and career

Assaad Bouab was born in Aurillac , the son of a Moroccan and a Frenchwoman . He then grew up in the Moroccan capital Rabat . After graduating from the French secondary school Lycée Descartes there , he moved to Paris in 1998 to begin studying at the University of Paris-Nanterre and from 1999 to 2002 trained as an actor at the private drama school Cours Florent . He was then admitted to study at the renowned Paris Conservatory Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique (CNSAD), which he also successfully completed in 2006.

During his student days, Assaad Bouab played in the theater since 1997 and had his first acting roles in two films by Christophe Honoré : My brother Leo (Tout contre Léo, 2001) and 17 times Cécile Cassard (17 fois Cécile Cassard, 2002). In 2003 he was honored as a young talent at the annual Talents Adami Cannes . In 2004 he became famous for the film Marock (2004) by Laïla Marrakchi , which was screened at the Cannes International Film Festival in 2005 . Also in 2005 he was seen as Kadour in the film Zaina - Queen of the Horses , the following year in Days of Glory (Indigènes, by Rachid Bouchareb ). In addition to other appearances in French films, from 2015 he worked in Homeland , Tyrant and Queen of the Desert . In 2017 he played the role of Hicham Janowski in the series Call My Agent! (Dix pour cent), followed by the series Kaboul Kitchen (Season 3, 2017) and Messiah (Season 1, 2020).

In addition to his film and television appearances, Bouab is also regularly active in the theater. He was seen in performances of William Shakespeare's Was ihr wollt or Voltaire's Zadig . Assaad Bouab is married and has one daughter.
