Assan Tachtachunow ( Kazakh Асан Тохтахунов ; born September 25, 1986 in Alma-Ata ) is a former Kazakh ski jumper .

Tachtachunow jumped for the first time on July 25, 2003 as part of the Continental Cup (COC) in Salt Lake City . He was able to win his first COC points in his first competition, as he jumped to 26th place. On November 29, 2003 he jumped for the first time in the Ski Jumping World Cup . Jumping on the large hill in Kuusamo he reached No. 49. On 10 January 2004, he was jumping in the Finnish Lahti first win 27 World Cup points with space. At the 2004 Junior World Championships in Stryn, Tachtachunow, who in the meantime also competed in the Continental Cup, reached 26th place on the normal hill. On March 14, 2004 he was able to win World Cup points again with a 29th place in Oslo . However, it was his last place in the points so far. At the end of the 2003/04 World Cup season , he was 70th overall. In the following years he was unable to achieve results worth mentioning in either the Continental Cup or the World Cup and was therefore eliminated from the senior national squad, but remained in the Continental Cup squad. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf in 2005 , he and the Kazakh team together with Iwan Karaulow , Nikolai Karpenko and Radik Schaparow came 11th on the normal and large hill. On the normal hill, the team was even able to leave the Norwegians, who were among the favorites, behind after the Norwegian Sigurd Pettersen fell badly in the first round.

At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2007 in Sapporo , Japan , the team was able to jump to 11th place after they had previously finished sixth in the World Cup competition in Willingen . At the Ski Flying World Championships 2008 in Oberstdorf, however, he only reached 13th place with the team.

Tachtachunow has not been able to achieve any successes since the ski flying world championship and mostly only jumped to the lower ranks in the Continental Cup. In World Cup competitions, for which he was nominated, he was eliminated in the qualification. In the summer of 2010 he was again without any points in the Continental Cup. The best result was a 37th place in his homeland of Almaty.
