Asta from Unger

Asta von Unger (born June 2, 1970 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German painter.

life and work

From 1999 to 2005 von Unger studied philosophy and literature in Bochum and with Umberto Eco in Bologna . Subsequently, von Unger was a master student in the Günther Förg class at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich . In 2010 she graduated in painting . Today von Unger lives and works as a visual artist in Munich and Berlin .

Von Unger is particularly interested in processes in her work. Her works examine all options of the material and thus the interplay of color and image carrier. The pictures are mostly large format.

Since autumn 2018, von Unger and other Munich artists have been using a row of shops on St.-Bonifatius-Straße in the Munich district of Obergiesing . The temporary shop window galleries show changing exhibitions under the title Windows .
