Attila, the Scourge of God (Original: Attila, il flagello di Dio ) is an Italian-French co-production from 1954, directed by Pietro Francisci and produced by Dino De Laurentiis and Carlo Ponti . The film is based on the life of Attila, King of the Huns . Anthony Quinn plays the lead role.

The Roman Emperor Valentinian III. celebrates intoxicating festivals while the general Aetius negotiates a peace pact with the Hun king Bleda . Bleda's brother Attila does not recognize this peace with the Romans and has Bleda murdered in order to usurp power himself. Emperor Valentinian III. is not satisfied with the contract and therefore accuses Aetius of high treason. Attila is preparing a war against the Romans. The Romans also begin preparing for war and Valentian's sister Honoria turns to Aetius, but Aetius says no. By skill, Honoria succeeds in becoming Attila's new lover. However, she is exposed and murdered on the battlefield. Attila's son, still a child, is also accidentally killed on the battlefield. Attila is heartbroken and badly hit. Can Pope Leo the Great Attila, who has not been stopped by any other power so far, speak to his conscience and bring him to return?
