Auchenblae , also Auchinblae , ( Gaelic : Achadh nam Blàth ) is a Scottish village in the Council Area Aberdeenshire . It is located in the Kincardine and Mearns region of traditional Kincardineshire about eight kilometers north of Laurencekirk and 15 km southwest of Stonehaven .
history
It is said that St. Ternan buried the bones of St. Palladius in Auchenblae. At the southern end of the town there is now a chapel dedicated to St. Palladius. At the church of Auchenblae there is a Pictish symbol stone , which is one of the oldest in the region.
Between 1895 and 1930 there was a whiskey distillery called Auchenblae or Auchinblae in the village . Parts of the building have been preserved.
traffic
The A90 , which connects Dundee with Fraserburgh , runs about four kilometers east of the village. There is no railway connection.
