Laurencekirk , is a village in the Scottish council area of Aberdeenshire . It is located about 35 km southwest of Aberdeen and 45 km northeast of Dundee about seven kilometers from the North Sea coast. In 2011 Laurencekirk had 2925 inhabitants. Since 1824 is in nearby Fettercairn the distillery Fettercairn resident. With Glencadam there is another distillery in Brechin, 15 km away .

The A90 , which connects Edinburgh with Fraserburgh , touches Laurencekirk in the south and ensures the connection to the trunk road network. Laurencekirk owned a train station, but it was initially closed in 1967. In 2009 it was renovated and reopened for £ 3 million. It is regularly served by the Edinburgh to Aberdeen Line .
Capo Long Barrow is a trapezoidal mound of earth from the Neolithic period. It is located about eight kilometers southwest of Laurencekirk.
