Aldouin Alberti
Aldouin Alberti (also Audouin Aubert , Andoino, Audynous or Audoin Alberti da Bessiaco ; * in Beyssac near Brives , Limousin ; † May 10, 1363 in Avignon ) was a cardinal of the Roman Church .
Career
Audouin Aubert was born as the third son of Gui Aubert and Marguerite de Livron, who were ennobled by King Philippe de Valois in March 1338 . On his father's side, he was a nephew of Cardinal Etienne Aubert , who later became Pope Innocent VI, who encouraged him during and after his training. Aubert was first canon in Sainte-Radegonde in Poitiers and was elected Bishop of Paris on September 12, 1349 after various tasks in several French dioceses . In the following year, on December 20, 1350, he became bishop of Auxerre and took over the diocese of Maguelone as bishop on January 30, 1353 . On February 15, 1353 he was succeeded by his uncle as cardinal priest of Santi Giovanni e Paolo , he gave up the office of Bishop of Maguelonne in January 1354 and settled in Avignon. In July 1361 he became Cardinal Bishop of the Diocese of Ostia . After the death of his uncle Alberti took part in the conclave of 1362 in Avignon, at which Urban V was elected Pope on September 28, 1362 and consecrated Bishop of Rome by Alberti on November 6, 1362 .
