August Bruchwitz

August Bruchwitz (born January 8, 1838 in Peitz , † May 15, 1914 in Lankwitz near Berlin ) was a German local politician who worked in the community of Lankwitz (now part of the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district of Berlin).

Life

From 1892 to 1898 Bruchwitz was a local councilor for Lankwitz. He was a secret accountant and a lay judge .

He made particular contributions to the community through his decisive involvement in the construction of the Lankwitz-Viktoriastraße railway station (today Berlin-Lankwitz train station on Leonorenstraße ), which opened on December 1, 1895.

At the age of 69, he was honored on March 23, 1907 by naming Bruchwitzstrasse in Lankwitz.

Due to "his unselfishness in the service of the community" he was presented with the honorary citizenship letter of the community Lankwitz on his 70th birthday in 1908 . These and similar honors were in 1920 as part of the amalgamation of several of former suburbs of Greater Berlin , as well as not adopted Lankwitz Berlin.

In 1914 he died in Lankwitz at the age of 76.
