August Entringer (* 13. February 1921 in Friedrichshafen , † 24 June 2008 ) was a German politician of the CDU .

Life and politics

August Entringer was born in Friedrichshafen in 1921 as the youngest of nine children of a master butcher. After attending school, doing military service and being a prisoner of war, he joined the CDU in 1947, the year he returned .

Entringer was a member of the Friedrichshafen municipal council for 35 years from 1959 to 1994. He was a member of the district council in the Tettnang district and in the Lake Constance district as well as a member of the regional assembly of Lake Constance-Upper Swabia .

In the state elections in 1972, Entringer was first elected to the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg . He represented the constituency of Wangen through a second mandate and was the first member to move into the state parliament as a replacement applicant for a successful direct candidate ( Josef Siedler ), because the CDU's claim to a mandate in the administrative district of South Württemberg-Hohenzollern exceeded the number of those directly won by the CDU Constituencies. In the 1976 election, he repeated this in the new constituency of Lake Constance as a substitute applicant for Karl Schiess , who had run in the Überlingen constituency in 1972. When he ran for the third time in 1980, Entringer was elected as a direct candidate for the constituency of Lake Constance. He worked on issues of economic and social policy in the state parliament.
