The printing August Wehrt , also A. Wehrt or Aug. Wehrt was in 1826 by August Wehrt in Braunschweig and existed there until 1968. In it, and in the attached publishing were maps , photos of current events and illustrations created for books. From 1843 the illustrated magazine Gallerie des Schönen und Nutzlichen appeared , and between 1890 and 1910 also postcards in various printing techniques .

The company was founded in 1826 by August Wehrt as an "art print" establishment. The company's copperplate engravings from the second quarter of the 19th century can now be found in important collections and archives . From 1890 the publisher produced postcards, often as lithographed cards with the additional imprint "Greetings from ...". Some of the postcards also bear the company's trademark , a standing Braunschweig lion looking to the left between the letters “W” and “B”.
