The Auguste-Pattberg-Gymnasium (short: APG ) has been a high school in Mosbach in the Neckarelz district since the 1972/73 school year . It has around 930 students and around 60 to 90 teachers (the number of which varies depending on trainees and interns , the school has 69 teachers with independent teaching assignments). The Auguste-Pattberg-Gymnasium is also a training school for prospective high school teachers at the study seminars in Heidelberg and Heilbronn .

The school building is shared by the APG with the state fencing center, the youth traffic school of the traffic watch and the Pattberghalle, which is also the sports hall of the APG, are also located on the premises. The building was erected in the years 1970-1979 in the then common concrete style.

The schoolhouse has five floors in the old part in which lessons take place. The so-called “upper level wing”, in which classes 11–13 of the grammar school have their classrooms, is attached. In 2003 a new building with two music rooms was built in the schoolyard (names: mure (music on the right) and muli (music on the left)). The APG cafeteria, located in the former Pattberg restaurant, was opened in the 2004/2005 school year. A further extension has been available since the 2007/2008 school year: Due to the expansion into a full-day school , another floor was added to a side wing of the building, which houses two more classrooms, a library with computer access and a silent room.

Participation in the First Lego League World Cup

Some students from the Auguste-Pattberg-Gymnasium and the teacher Hajo Zenzen formed one of the teams participating in the First Lego League with the team TOP FIVE and TOP . At the national finals on November 27, 2004, the team won the title First Lego League Champion 2004 against 25 other teams from Germany , Austria , Switzerland and Italy and thus qualified for the World Cup in Atlanta 2005. In the following years no further great successes could be achieved.
