Augusto Aristizábal Ospina

Augusto Aristizábal Ospina (born May 26, 1928 in Manizales , † November 6, 2004 ) was Bishop of Jericó .

Life

Augusto Aristizábal Ospina was ordained a priest on October 31, 1954 . Paul VI appointed him on June 2, 1969 auxiliary bishop in Cali and titular bishop of Ceramussa .

The Archbishop of Cali , Alberto Uribe Urdaneta , donated him episcopal ordination on April 25 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Alfredo Rubio Diaz , Archbishop of Nueva Pamplona , and Alfonso Uribe Jaramillo , Bishop of Sonsón-Rionegro .

The Pope appointed him Bishop of Jericó on October 29, 1977 . As a motto he chose Omnia Propter Electos . On October 7, 2003, John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
