The Auray (known as Loc'h above the town of Auray ) is a river in France that runs in the Morbihan department in the Brittany region . It rises in the municipality of Plaudren , initially drains in a westerly direction, but then turns to the south and flows into the Gulf of Morbihan and thus into the Atlantic Ocean after 56 kilometers, around the height of Locmariaquer . In its lower reaches it forms an estuary funnel a good ten kilometers long .
