Austin Theory (born August 2, 1997 in McDonough , Georgia ) is an American wrestler . He is currently under contract with the WWE and appears regularly on their show NXT .

Wrestling career

Free Agent (2016-2019)

He made his professional wrestling debut on May 5, 2016, under the ring name Austin Theory, defeating AR Fox in a WWA4 event to win the WWA4 heavyweight championship. Theory made his Progress Wrestling debut on April 1, 2017, on a joint show by Progress and Evolve, in which he lost to Keith Lee in a Fatal Four Way Match that also included Jason Kincaid and Blaster McMassive. On August 12, Theory lost to Mark Haskins in a Fatal Four Way Match that also included Mark Andrews and Keith Lee. In chapter 67, Theory teamed up with Jinny to defeat Will Ospreay and Kay Lee Ray.

Performances in Mexico (2018-2019)

On June 16, 2018, Theory made his debut on The Crash Lucha Libre, losing to Rey Horus. On March 2, 2019, Theory defeated Willie Mack, Bárbaro Cavernario and Sansón to win the Crash Heavyweight Championship. On June 14th, Theory made his CMLL debut, working with Carístico and Volador Jr. to defeat Rush and La Peste Negra (Bárbaro Cavernario and Negro Casas).

World Wrestling Entertainment (since 2018)

Before signing with WWE, he took part in a WWE tryout in February 2018. On April 8th, the 4th day of WrestleMania Axxess, Theory defended his WWN championship against Marcel Barthel .

On August 15, 2019, it was announced that he had signed a contract with WWE. In the December 25, 2019 NXT episode, Theory made his in-ring debut and accepted an open challenge against Roderick Strong for the NXT North American Championship , but he failed to win that match. In the January 8, 2020 NXT episode, Theory scored his first win by defeating Joaquin Wilde.

Theory appeared on the March 30, 2020 episode of Raw as a member of Zelina Vega in association with Angel Garza and Seth Rollins , where she was defeated by Kevin Owens and Raw Tag Team Champions The Street Profits Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford . At WrestleMania 36, ​​he and Garza challenged the Raw Tag Team Champions for the title, but they lost the match. After defeating Akira Tozawa in the April 13 episode of Raw, he joined the stable between Zelina Vega and Andrade . However, on the May 18, 2020 episode of Raw, he was attacked by Andrade and Garza after they accidentally lost a match to Kevin Owens and Apollo Crews , which threw him off the stable. Later that night, he helped Seth Rollins and Murphy attack Aleister Black and officially joined Rollins' group.

With an appearance on NXT on August 26th, it was officially confirmed that Theory is back on NXT.
