The 2017 Austrian Football League was the 33rd season of the top Austrian men's American football division . It began on March 25, 2017 and ended on July 29, 2017 with the Austrian Bowl XXXIII in the Wörthersee Stadium in Klagenfurt . The Vienna Vikings became champions with a 45:26 against the Swarco Raiders Tirol .

mode

The mode remained the same compared to last year, after the Prague Black Panthers after last season left the league and the Steelsharks Traun from the Division I ascended. Each team competes against three teams in one home and one away game. There is only one game against the other four opponents, so that each team plays ten games in the basic round. The four opponents that are played only once are different for each team.

The teams in places 3 to 6 qualify for the wild card round. The winners from this round and the best two teams from the regular season play the playoffs. Its winners played in the Austrian Bowl XXXIII for the Austrian title.
