Avicenna is the Latinized name of the Muslim polymath Abū Alī al-Husayn ibn Abdullāh ibn Sīnā, whose achievements stand for scientific excellence, liberal philosophy, plurality and the assumption of responsibility for his fellow men. Its success was based on curiosity and the ability to bring together knowledge from different languages and cultures. The aim of the Studienwerk is to provide high-performing and socially committed Muslim students with comprehensive support through scholarships. The scholarships include material and non-material support.

Students receive a basic grant of up to 735 euros per month, the amount of which is based on the existing BAföG rates. In addition, all students are granted a monthly book allowance of EUR 300. In contrast to BAföG, the scholarships do not have to be repaid. Doctoral candidates receive a monthly grant of up to 1,350 euros. In addition, a research fee of 100 euros can be granted.
