Axel Horn (pedagogue)

Axel Edmund Horn (born June 20, 1954 ) is a German educator , sports scientist and university lecturer .

Life

After graduating from high school, Horn studied theology , philosophy , sports , German and geography at the University of Würzburg . In 1980 he was there with work responsibilities today: a philosophical and theological debate with the thinking of Martin Heidegger, Jean-Paul Sartre and Paul Tillich to the question of responsibility and responsibility of man to Dr. theol. PhD. He then entered high school education in the Free State of Bavaria , where he remained until 2001. In 1987 he also received his second doctorate at the University of Würzburg. He was learning to play with his work : play as a basic ek-sistential phenomenon and the possibility of a game education in physical education classes for Dr. phil. PhD. From 1994 to 1996 Horn also taught at the University of Augsburg , where he received his habilitation in 2002 with a thesis on physical and physical education .

In 2001, Horn accepted a call to the Schwäbisch Gmünd University of Education , where he held the professorship for sports education and sports didactics. At the university he is the institute director for health sciences and department head for sport and exercise. Since 2008 Horn has also been visiting professor at the University of the Peloponnese at the International Olympic Academy in Olympia . In 2017 Horn retired.

Research priorities

Horn deals with game theory , education , didactics and school sports research . He also works in the humanities-oriented disciplines of sports science such as sports education , philosophy , sociology , psychology , history , and didactics . In the context of his visiting professorship, among other things, he also deals with Olympic education .
