Axel Noack (athlete)

Axel Noack (born September 23, 1961 in Görlitz ) is a former German athlete and Olympic participant who was successful in walking in the 1980s and 1990s . Until 1990 he started for the GDR .

Life

On June 21, 1987 in Chemnitz he set a world record in 20 km walking with 1: 19: 12.0 hours.

At the European Indoor Championships in 1990, he won the bronze medal in the 5000 m walking.

He was GDR champion five times: in 1984 in 50 km walking in 4:00:41 h, 1987 in 10,000 m walking in 39: 29.72 minutes and 20 km walking in 1:21:34 h, 1990 in the 20,000 m track walk in 1: 22: 26.10 h and at the GDR indoor championships in the 5000 m track walk in 18: 08.11 min.

With a height of 1.82 m, he had a competition weight of 74 kg.

Noack works as a youth athletic trainer at the Olympic base of the German Basketball Federation.
