Aysel Məhəmməd qızı Teymurzadə (born April 25, 1989 in Baku ), also known as AySel , is an Azerbaijani pop singer . Teymurzadə became internationally known through her selection by İctimai Televiziya və Radio Yayımları Şirkəti as co-singer of the Azerbaijani contribution “Always” to the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 . Together with her singing partner Arash , she achieved third place with this title in the ESC final. The day before, the title had already entered the Swedish single charts at number 41.

Life

Aysel Teymurzadə was born in the Azerbaijani capital as the daughter of a journalist and a university lecturer.

Teymurzadə is of Azerbaijani descent, but has partly Russian and Ukrainian roots on his mother's side .

Aysel Teymurzadə studied International Relations at the Azerbaijani University of Languages from 2006 to 2010 .
