Reviews

Rotten Tomatoes wrote that the ending was "very surprising".

Christopher Null wrote on filmcritic.com that the film was "predominantly crap".

The magazine TV Spielfilm wrote that the "well thought-out thriller" entertained "with subtle tension". He relies "on his excellent leading actors", especially John Lithgow and Eric Roberts.

René Classen wrote in the lexicon of international films : “'Bad Shadows' is not a coherent crime film, but a half-baked mixture of typical ingredients of the genre: the further the story advances, the more points of friction become. The final sequence stands in stark contrast to the rest of the plot; the surprise effect is just as useful in itself as numerous unmotivated sex and violence scenes. "
